Vir die P.U.K. as inrigting en vir die personeel van die P.U.K. as individue was die skielike heengaan van ons eerste rektor, prof. dr. F.Postma, op 4 November 1950 ’n geweldigeslag en verlies. Ons het almal gehoop dat ons eerste rektor die heuglike dag van ons selfstandigwordingmag helewe.
