Floris Jespers het op Goeie Vrydag van hierdie ja ar gesterf. 'n Tipiese sterfdag voorw aar vir iem and wat eens aan 'n joernalis die volgende verklaar het: „Ensor spot met Christus. Ge moogt zoo 'n groot godshater zijn als ge wilt, m aar als ge Christus voorstelt, moet ge dit m et eerbied doen. Daarin be- strijd ik Ensor”.
