Abstract

Socloblology is defined as the systematic study of the biological basis of all social behaviour. E.O. Wilson's major work, Sociotiiolugy: The new synthesis (1975) attracted hostile attention as well as high praise. For some the word socloblology imply the study of social behaviour In animals, for others. It Is an ideological construction calculated to justify racial inequality and the oppresion of women. Much of the confusion has come from a simple misunderstanding of the content of this new discipline.
